American Express and M&C Saatchi Abel approached me with a great design and type project for The One Hundred Finest Restaurant Awards in South Africa 2016. They wanted an identity created using hand lettered type with an elegant feel, liquid and organic. The type was printed using different materials and ingredients such as silkscreening with beetroot juice, using salt and caramelised sugar. Documenting the process was part of the initial brief to draw a parallel between the event and the design. To create a bridge between the event and guests with the award winning chefs and the attention to detail, skill and precision of the culinary arts. The 'making of' video was then used for the award ceremony along with the logo and other printed material.
